April Meeting Recap

After snacking and admiring each others sewing gear (a wheeled case for your machine!?), we got some work done on our Soy Amado squares. If you've been working on your own 12.5" quilted block(s) we will be collecting them at our Social Sew-In this Saturday and at the May meeting. Feel free to drop by on Saturday anytime between 9 and 5 and stay as long as you'd like.

Other important dates to remember:

Registration for our Sew Boston event will open on May 2nd at 10am. Check out our Meetings/Events page to register and get more information abut this event.

Registration for our workshop with Chawne Kimber will open on May 16th at 10am. Go to our Meetings/Events page for more information and to register.

At the May meeting the 8.5" raspberry kiss lottery blocks are due. Tutorial for the block is here. Make bright colored centers with low volume exteriors (similar to the tutorial).  Make one or more blocks.  Each block gets one raffle ticket and the raffle winner takes home all of the blocks.

And now, for your monthly show and tell:

Gretchen's super cute pillowcase for her lucky son.

And her traveling sewing case, complete with frame and zipper!

Carolyn's Roman Aqueduct inspired beauty...

... will be just as lovely on the back.
Rebecca's impeccably pieced color study lit up the room

Joanne's Riley Blake challenge looks even better when it's not a blur, trust me.

Joanne's summery sunflower coaster...

...and lily of the valley applique had us reaching for the iced tea.

Maritza's take on a lone star is awesome, and picture it hand-quilted in pink!

Maritza's original pattern was out of this world.

Melissa's monochrome lone star (put together in Maritza's class)
created some really cool secondary shapes.

Sarah made matching Merchant Mills Trapezette dresses for her lucky daughters

Rebecca's colorful quilt from an improv class kept giving us more things to notice

Allison's cell block (couldn't resist) may become one of many in the science quilt she's contemplating

Allison's adorable pixelated Hello Kitty

Kaesmene's Sew Together Bag decorated with fussy-cut hexies
included a detachable pin cushion!
See you at our Social Sew-In this Saturday or May 29th at our next meeting!
